The Thunderbirds outmanned the Knights Monday night at McInnish to up their record to 2-0. It was an equal balance of hitting and pitching and defense that led to the “W” for the birds.

Jody Nicewonger and Bo Vaculik led the attack at the plate tallying 2 hits apiece on the night. Ron Short and Bodie Wilson added extra basehits with a double and RBI triple respectively while Brian Synatzske, Brent Smerczynski, John Menth and Justin Toona each chipped in with hits as well on the night.

On the mound, Smerczynski picked up the W with a dominating complete game effort. The Knights weren’t able to get anything going offensively as Smerczynski only gave up 3 hits while racking up 13 Ks on the night.
